So in the last hour of the day I found out it is indeed World Poetry day today (at least, it is for another 32 minutes as I start typing this post). So of course I wanted to write a quick poem, I haven’t done too much poetry writing recently but I do enjoy putting pen to paper (or typing on a keyboard?) like this every once in a while.

W r i t i n g
Words flying across the page
backspace, typo, did I mean what I said
so many words written in under five minutes
paragraphs turn into chapters until it’s finished
Then comes the editing
wait what was that?
really, I think I missed a word there
notepad open, thoughts in motion
And… because, why not? I thought I’d share another couple of poems I wrote last year, in fact this next one is a little teeny sneak peak for something in one of my stories (I like to make up songs my characters are listening to).
Want me back?
If you’re gonna tell me
you want me back
like the old days
when we were for alway-ay-ays
Sitting here
looking up at The Moon
wondering if
it’s too soon
To return to the way
we used to be
forget the time
you walked out on me
And just one more, again, about writing (see there’s a bit of a theme in this post).
E d i t i n g
I don’t know whether
to add or edit
change the words
or make them stick
