Christmas day might be over for the year but there’s a few days left before the New Year bank holiday, so if you still want a recommendation for a festive film or two to watch over the next few days, I’ve put together a list of films…
These are films I’ve enjoyed watching over the past few years, I haven’t actually got round to watching any new ones this year (except for one I stuck on the other day but was totally distracted trying to make a dice with letters on for the game from my story, so that doesn’t really count.)
I did share a post back in 2017 titled 10 Christmas Films if you’d like to check that one out.
ChristmasLand (2015) an inheritance with a will she won’t she keep it storyline when the main character has this whole other life in the city, I love these sorts of films and it was wonderful that the place she’d inherited was totally 100% Christmas.
Christmas Under Wraps (2014) a Doctor takes a bit of a detour in her life and career when she ups and moves to Alaska. This one had all the lovely romantic Christmas feels.
Holidate (2020) a perfect romcom style Christmas movie, non-feelings non-romantic plus ones that end up the total opposite.
Happiest Season (2020) her parents don’t know she’s bringing her girlfriend to stay (or that she even has a girlfriend) so obviously awkward moments ensue, another great Christmas film.
Holiday In The Wild (2019) this was a wonderful film about elephants in Africa, it made the remoteness feel so real that I’m not sure I could live somewhere so remote in real life!
A Very Merry Toy Store (2017) another movie I enjoyed watching, this one had rival toy stores! I was excited to see both Melissa Joan Hart and Beth Broderick in this though, it was like a Sabrina, Zelda reunion.
One film I did manage to see (at least some of) this year is The Holiday (2006) when it was on TV last week, wooo! It’s still one of my favourite Christmas films.
Have you watched any of these before?
