Disclosure: I downloaded a copy of this book for free from NetGalley in return for writing an honest review.

This is the first ARC I’ve got that’s by an author whose work I already love (two of my most favourite books are I’ll Take New York and Take A Look At Me Now) so I was super excited to be approved to read this on NetGalley.

The Day We Meet Again by Miranda Dickinson book review

So what’s the story about?

Phoebe and Sam meet totally by chance on St Pancras station, it’s love at first sight but they were both supposed to be heading off on their own adventures for a year, they decide to carry on with their plans, agreeing to meet back at the station one year later if they both still feel the same… will they still want to be together after a year apart?

My rating: 5/5

Anyone who reads this will discover June 14th is of course a very important date in the book (unbeknown to me before I started reading it) but guess what date I started reading this book? June 14th, I know, right? That had to be a good sign from the off.

I loved reading about Phoebe’s and Sam’s adventures from Scotland with Sam to Europe with Phoebe. The story was brilliantly written and it’s full of wonderful characters too – of course I thought Sam and Phoebe were fab but there were others I loved as well like Giana, Tobi, Luc, Amanda, Ailish (the list could go on!) Miranda’s writing really brought the places they visited to life, it’s made me want to go on an adventure of my own one day. I loved the Wall of Love mural, also Giana’s pebble painting was lovely too.

I have to mention it… there was definitely a moment that made me go OMG what?! At one point in the story. I loved how by what happened happened, the way it then went (that doesn’t make a lot of sense but I don’t want to give away any spoilers) I loved the whole serendipitous feeling to the ending though.

It is such a lovely, feel good story, one that I’d definitely recommend to others to read, especially coming up to autumn it’ll be the perfect book to snuggle up with to read with your favourite hot drink.
